DADS
Who we are
DADS, an initiative by Kalyan’s Dental Care Centre, is dedicated to bringing comprehensive dental care directly to the homes of elderly and geriatric patients. Our mission is to make oral healthcare accessible for individuals who find it difficult to visit a clinic, including those with mobility challenges or disabilities. Along with spreading awareness about the importance of dental health in older adults, we provide a full range of treatments—from routine dental checkups and root canal treatments to complete dentures—ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality care in the familiar environment of home.
How We Operate
At DADS, our care begins with a personal video consultation led by Dr. Anitha Narayanan. During this initial call, she carefully assesses the patient’s condition, listens to their concerns, and interacts with family members or caregivers to better understand the situation. This is followed by a thorough review of the patient’s medical and dental history, along with a detailed discussion of the current issue. Based on this assessment, a suitable home visit and treatment plan is arranged. The entire plan and process are also clearly communicated to the patient’s children or family members so that they remain fully informed and involved in the care being provided.
On the day of the scheduled checkup or treatment, our team arrives at the patient’s home fully equipped with a complete portable dental setup. This includes a portable dental chair, compressor, suction unit, intraoral camera, X-ray machine, and all other instruments required to safely perform dental procedures outside a clinic setting. Before beginning any treatment, we check the patient’s vital signs such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and oxygen saturation to ensure their safety and comfort. Every step of the process is carried out with the utmost care and strict hygiene protocols, and disposable protective materials are provided to patients to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable experience throughout the visit
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you do a thorough dental check-up
Yes. Our home dental visits are designed to provide a comprehensive examination similar to what you would receive in a dental clinic. Using portable dental equipment and diagnostic tools, we are able to carefully assess oral health, identify dental problems, and recommend appropriate treatment while the patient remains comfortable at home.
Will you not need all the equipment?
We bring a complete portable dental setup with us for every home visit. This includes a portable dental chair, compressor, suction unit, intraoral camera, X-ray machine, and all necessary instruments required for diagnosis and treatment. This allows us to perform most dental procedures safely and efficiently in the patient’s home.
Our father has other medical problems. Is it safe to do dental treatment?
Patient safety is always our priority. Before any procedure, we review the patient’s medical history in detail and assess their current health condition. During the visit, we also check vital signs such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and oxygen saturation. Treatments are carefully planned keeping the patient’s medical conditions in mind, ensuring safe and comfortable care.
How about the treatment? Will you be able to do all the treatment at home?
Most common dental treatments can be comfortably performed at home using our portable equipment. This includes dental check-ups, cleaning, fillings, root canal treatments, denture care, and other basic procedures. If a treatment requires specialized hospital or clinic facilities, we guide the family accordingly and help plan the next steps.
He is bedridden and has no complaints. Is a dental check-up required?
Yes, regular dental check-ups are still important even if there are no obvious complaints. Many oral health problems in elderly patients such as gum disease, infections, or denture-related issues may not cause immediate pain but can affect overall health if left untreated. A routine check-up helps detect and address these concerns early.
